This is the part of a webite where artists generally sing their own praises, quote from reviews, and list the great venues they have played at and the stars they have played alongside... and I could... but I'm not going to!

Instead, let me tell you why I play and sing my brand of music - it's because I love it! I perform songs from my part of the world and write songs about things that are important to me and get no greater enjoyment than sharing these with others (here are some samples).

I regard bookings (gigs) in new areas as a chance to meet new friends rather than as a business opportunity. I always enjoy performing and feel that if I am to be paid, I am an entertainer and not just giving a recital.

I play guitar, mandola, banjo, dulcimer and percussion, though not all at the same time! When not playing solo, I play with my band, Roughtown or with Shake-A-Leg, the stonking good ceilidh band. My gig-list may seem a bit sparse, but I intend to work on that (possibly with your help?)... and I do have a day job (as a gardener)! As a 'semi-pro', I feel I have the best of both worlds, and enjoy both halves of my life immensely.
